Innerise was originally formed by Tarl and a friend called Ben Curzon, this was approx 8-9 years ago. We were creating ambient tracks using a few analogues and other keyboards, guitar effects and bad drum machines. We were both also in indie guitar bands aswell. Once these bands had split Ben and Tarl continued with Innerise, but adding another friend, Ben Reece. The sound changed from ambient to a more ambient dub influenced noise, using the same keybords and effects but also adding guitars. We only played one gig with this line up before it was over.

From about 1995 Tarl has been using the name Innerise for his own music, ranging from beatless ambient to vocal electronica. As it stands today Innerise is still just Tarl, concentrating on making the same kind of music as before, working with a couple of vocalists so far. One of these is Ani, who has played a major part in the Innerise sound over the last couple of years.
